We often have to answer the question: How should we store our tires in order to ensure that they have the longest shelf life and greatest saleability?  Well, we listened, and have a few tips for you.  As a company that has been making stacking racks for storage of...well...everything since 1955, we have a few ideas on how to safely keep a warehouse filled with tires.

Tip 1 - Weight is an enemy.  Don't believe for a second that because they are heavy, tires can have things stacked on top of them.  Tires are, by their nature, extremely malleable.  They can compress and warp under pressure, causing them to lose their shape and compromising the integrity of the rubber in extreme cases.  This can cause tires to age prematurely and come apart on the wheel, an obviously undesirable outcome.

Tip 2 - Heat is another enemy.  Store tires in a cool, dry environment that doesn't vary from this.  Storing tires in a hot, moist room exposes the tires to undue wear and can reduce their effectiveness.  The warmth makes the rubber MORE malleable, causing even more damage than would normally be seen.  Warehouses that operate warmer and moister than others are subject to greater tire decay than those in more temperate environments.

Keep to these simple tips and you can add months or years of storage time to your tires, ensuring higher profits and more bountiful sales.
