When your warehouse needs safe storage space, you look for racks with perforated decking.  Any storage system needs to work hand-in-hand with your fire protection system.  Perforated decking allows water to sluice through the rack in the event of a fire, allowing flames to be extinguished beneath the racks.  This essential safety feature makes the racks an active participant, not a hindrance, to the safety of your facility.  This also helps your tire rack to pass important fire safety codes and keep you operating.  The ratio of holes to solid deck gives good support to the tires and will not leave marks on the tires in the portable rack.

Another style of stacking rack uses wire mesh decking. This decking is less expensive than perforated metal decking and has larger openings in the deck. This is a good option if your tires are in and out of your warehouse rack frequently and the wire deck doesn't have time to leave marks on your product. Naturally, the least expensive portable stack rack for tires has no decking at all. The inner and outer rack beams are located so they support the tires. This works best if you do not have people standing on the rack as they load or unload the tires, since the rack beams do not provide as secure a work surface as a deck does.

Tier-Rack Corporation has been a leader in rack solutions and flexible warehouse racking systems for almost sixty years. The original Tier-Rack® pallet stacking frame converts regular warehouse pallets into sturdy storage racks in seconds without screws or bolts. And the Load-Nester® all-steel storage rack features light and heavy duty models of solid all-welded, knock-down, or nestable designs for all your material handling needs. Our portable stacking racks and rack systems are designed to handle and store even the most fragile, odd-shaped, and awkward merchandise. They can be designed to transport two loads at a time. Our stack racks reduce handling time, stack four to six high, and they are capable of supporting thousands of pounds per unit load. All Tier-Rack racks are engineered with a "2-to-1" safety factor to ensure the racks will perform safely and last for decades.  For more information, visit http://tier-rack.com today.

If you have to ship tires, you know all of the headaches.  They deform and warp in heat, they get brittle in clod, they get "flat spots" when you leave them on the floor, they get dents from pallets.  Tires used to be a huge pain to ship.. Oh, did we say "used to be"?  Well, that's because you haven't been shipping your tires with Tier-Rack tire racks, the best way to ship your tires from factory to store!

Tier-Rack tire racks are specially built for tires.  They are created knowing that tires cause headaches for even the most careful companies.  With tires, you want to make sure that weight is distributed evenly throughout the tire to keep them from going flat.  There are a lot of ways to do it.  You can use perforated decking, like our racks do.  You can use interlaced tire stacking, which can also keep the pressure off of the tires.  When shipping the tires, our custom designed shipping racks can help you cube out a trailer or shipping container and save on shipping costs.Calculate your ROI using our cost saving shipping containers and you will see what a value they offer. We offer total design services for these stackable shipping racks, including AutoCAD® drafting. Often we can design a custom rack with no more than a prototype of the part to be shipped. Our product design team will deliver a solution that will hold your items securely in a cost effective stack rack. Many types of interior protective dunnage are used to keep your parts from being damaged during transit.

We can design racks to span the width of a trailer often called Truck Decking, or racks to hold individual pallet loads sitting side by side like automotive racks.  Often these shipping racks or shipping containers are designed with sides that can fold down. This allows empty racks to be stacked more densely for lower freight costs on the return trip. This also prevents the rack posts from being misplaced in shipment. Whether your products are light and fragile or heavy and awkward to handle, we have the experience to help you move your parts safely.
Past applications include the following:

  • Tires
  • Transmissions
  • Hoods
  • Catalytic converters
  • Side panels
  • Glass
  • Palletized and boxed items

Let us show you how our years of manufacturing experience can provide you with quality shipping racks, truck decking and returnable racks at a very affordable price. We buy steel tubing directly from the tube mills in truckload quantities. Then our talented and efficient teams in our low overhead production facilities transform the steel tubing into high quality portable racks that have been designed to meet your needs. Give us a chance to prove to you than nobody does it better than Tier-Rack! Whether you need 100,000 racks or 10 racks, Tier-Rack is your best choice for stacking shipping racks, storage bins, utility racks, and shipping containers.  Visit www.tier-rack.com for more information and call 1-800-325-7869 to order today.  Nobody makes better tire racks than Tier-Rack!

Overstacking a rack is dangerous. whether it's for tires, general goods, giant coils, grains, or whatever, there's a weight limit that your rack was built to specifications for.  This weight limit, however, isn't always easy for warehouse managers to convey to their employees, regarsless of how important it is to warehouse safety.  There may be a missing link in the chain of information, where the manager creates a sign which is covered by something else, or the lessons get lost in the shuffle of employee turnover.  However, this important lesson needs to be imparted at every level, as no company can afford for their inventory to crash to the floor.

Overstacking isn't the only problem though.  Racks can be weakened by collisions with forklifts, by improper stacking, by being in improper configurations or environments, or they may arrive in an unsatisfactory condition.  This last one, however, is one that Tier-Rack Corp can fix.  Every rack manufactured by Tier-Rack Corporation meets their highest safety and manufacturing specs, and are manufactured here, in the United States, of the finest metals and techniques at their manufacturing factories.

Everyone that has a warehouse knows that a storage rack can be the only barrier between order and chaos.  Having a professional rack, made for your item and industry, keeps your warehouse clean and organized.  They give you a place for everything.  Different industries need different racks, but every business that stores anything needs racks.

Stacking Racks are a great solution for many businesses.  What are a few reasons to choose stack racks?

•Store more product in less space

•Contain products in stack

•Eliminate use of wood pallets

•Allow bulk storage, no aisles needed

•Rearrange storage layout easily

•Unused racks collapse to save space

•Protect products during shipment

•Economical solution to many needs

Our portable stacking racks and rack systems are designed to handle and store even the most fragile, odd-shaped, and awkward merchandise. They can be designed to transport two loads at a time. Our stack racks reduce handling time, stack four to six high, and they are capable of supporting thousands of pounds per unit load. All styles of racking are engineered to meet and/or exceed the "2-to-1" safety factor established by the Rack Manufacturers Institute (RMI) for portable rack design specifications.

Individual racks can be moved by pallet jacks or forklifts. Each rack can be stacked on top of other racks to create a column of three to six racks, depending on the size of the rack and the weight of the load in the racks. Empty racks save space when the posts or side frames are removed from the bases. Our rack system can help with any storage problem that you may have.

Call Tier-Rack today at 800-325-7869 and visit www.tier-rack.com today to purchase the right rack for your business.  Tier-Rack carries everything from tire racks to pad racks, and all storage racks in-between.  We also engineer custom racks, so if we don't have what you need, we can build it!

Storing truck tires can be a hassle, as they are generally sized differently than the more commonly available passenger tire racks.  Tier-Rack Corporation has been the leading manufacturer of Truck Tire Racks since 1955, the year they invented the stackable frames for tire storage.  They are the original source for truck tire storage racks, and have made it possible for thousands of customers to eliminate their material storage handling issues.

Tier-Rack has many different varieties of truck tire racks to choose from, giving customers choices about how they store their tires.  However, unlike many Truck Tire Rack distributors, Tier-Rack Corporation actually manufactures their own products.  Tier-Rack also has engineers on staff to help design the tire rack that you need for your material storage use.  Many customers like to use wire mesh decks, for example, as their fire codes require water from overhead sprinklers to pass through grating to the floor below.  The ratio of holes to solid deck that our team designed gives solid support to the tires while leaving no marks on the tire.  The highly trained, on-staff engineering team creates custom racks that are then built on-site at Tier-Rack's manufacturing centers.
